EDI Order CSV 0.1.0, Madrasco

Requires Python 3.10 or later and a desktop browser. No pip packages.
Tested on Linux with Python 3.12 and Chromium. Windows, macOS, Edge,
Safari and Firefox have not yet been tested. Try the free preview first.

1. Unzip the download to a folder.
2. Open a terminal in that folder. Run:
   Windows: py start.py
   Linux/macOS: python3 start.py
3. Keep that terminal open. Your browser opens the local tool.
If it does not, copy the http://127.0.0.1 address from the terminal.
4. Choose up to 20 business-order EDI files, each at most 5 MiB.
5. Click Convert and preview. Review order lines and diagnostics.
6. Save orders.csv and result.json. Compare them with your source orders
   before importing anything. A rejected message contributes no CSV rows;
a batch may therefore have partial output. Keep the source files.
7. Press Ctrl+C in the terminal to stop the tool.

Command-line alternative (output folder must not already exist):
  python3 converter.py order.edi --output converted-orders
  py converter.py order.edi --output converted-orders
Returns exit code 2 for no exported lines or failed input, 0 otherwise.

Supported input: enveloped X12 850 and EDIFACT ORDERS. No invoices,
despatch advice, envelope-less messages or healthcare documents.
Supported output: order number/date/date format/currency and line number, primary
item ID/type, alternate IDs, description, ordered quantity/unit and price.
X12 uses PO1 quantities/prices. EDIFACT requires QTY qualifier 21 and uses
net price PRI qualifier AAA or gross price AAB, with the qualifier and
price basis quantity/unit in separate columns. Multiple eligible prices
are refused; other price qualifiers are blank. No currency conversion or date reformatting.
Missing order numbers/ordered quantities and structural errors cause the
whole message to be withheld. Raw mapped messages and issues are in JSON.
Other segments/fields are not in the CSV. JSON is the parser's mapping,
not a lossless copy of every input segment. Always retain your original.

CSV is for inspection first, not a partner-specific ERP import template.
Potential spreadsheet formulas get a leading apostrophe in CSV. JSON retains
raw values. Import identifier columns as text to preserve leading zeroes.
This tool does not send orders, write to an ERP, apply partner-specific
rules or provide certification. Automated checks can miss mistakes.

Privacy: all conversion is local. No telemetry, uploads to Madrasco,
accounts or persistent local storage. Files are sent from the browser only
to the Python server on 127.0.0.1. Downloads are written where your browser
saves them. Output can contain confidential business data: handle it as
carefully as the original. Do not use individual consumer or healthcare data.

Built and maintained by Madrasco using AI agents for code and checks.
Support: support@madrasco.dev. Describe the issue first; do not send
unredacted order files. Support replies may be AI-assisted; you can request
the human owner. Refund policy: https://madrasco.dev/refunds

No subscription. The full download allows repeated local batches.
The free preview caps CSV/rows at five and omits raw mapped order bodies.
Neither edition is an integration service or a guarantee of correctness.
